PROCESSING Times



Processing time is the time it takes to create your order, excluding the postage time.

RECEIPT OF PAYMENT – DISPATCH OF YOUR ORDER

  • Usually 5 business days, with a maximum of 21 business days.

    This includes any item with personalised text, unless otherwise stated. Processing times require the prompt approval of your design proof, and therefore may be delayed if you make changes or delay approval of your design, which will be sent to you via email after ordering.

  • Usually 24hrs, with a maximum 3-5 business days.

  • Have a 2-4 week turnaround and depend on bookings and how quickly you follow up your order with an email containing any relevant visuals or requirements.

  • Instant – digital file delivery is automatic upon payment, to your email address.

  • During busy periods (like Christmas or special occasions) processing times may increase without notice.

    Marika Knows Things will always put up an announcement banner if there are significant delays however, or for upcoming closures like planned holidays.

    • You are in a hurry or need an item by a specific date. We aim to complete all orders as quickly as possible, but it is often possible to expedite an item if it has been pre-arranged before ordering. Selection of express post is also critical for these orders, once we have advised if we can meet your request.

    • You would like a discounted price for a bulk order, we will also give you an estimated timeframe for processing and delivery of larger quantities.

      If you have emailed and received a reply within a reasonable timeframe, your email may have ended up in our junk mail folder. You can always use the contact form if unsure, or to chase up a reply.

Marika Knows Things products are designed and made in Australia, they’re laser engraved and hand finished right here in the workshop.

THE PROCESS

Once a design is completed/proof is approved (for custom or personalised orders), that’s when the real magic begins. The manufacturing process includes cutting, sanding, assembly, finishing, drying – often requiring multiple layers of paint, oil or varnish – with dry times between coats.

Rest assured we begin your order as fast as possible, but this process shouldn’t be rushed, allowing adequate time for each step ensures a quality product that will last as long as possible.

We have moved to a limited release format for orders, meaning orders will open and close based on available workshop time, new design releases, and materials. This ensures a manageable workload and that products remain fresh, unique and inspired.

SHIPPING Information



Shipping time – also called delivery or postage time – is the time it takes your item to arrive once dispatched. This part of the process is out of our control.

DISPATCH OF YOUR ORDER – ARRIVAL AT YOUR HOME

On dispatch you will receive an email notification including tracking number, if applicable.

Once dispatched, shipping time involves your item being processed by our local post office, transported via road (and/or air), through a distribution centre (or two), and finally arriving at your local post office, home or office address.

  • National shipping/delivery times can vary from 1-14 business days depending on your location, postage method & other impacts (like peak times).

    You can check the current expected delivery times and service updates via Australia Post.

    We offer a choice of standard or express post shipping options at checkout. All items are sent via Australia Post unless otherwise arranged prior to order. We post Australia-wide, from Victoria.

    For very large items (usually custom orders) over 600mm / 60cm / 5kg we will advise postage cost, these often require a courier which increases the postage price. Such items are excluded from any free shipping offers.

    Once an item is posted, delivery times are outside our control, however we aim to post as quickly as possible, and you can check for current delivery times or delays via the Australia Post website.

    Marika Knows Things is not responsible for items lost, stolen or damaged via post, unless the item is insured. However, if your item does not arrive, or arrives damaged please contact us via email to discuss the situation, we will always endeavour to help where we can.

  • Try checking the tracking via Australia Post or visit their ‘find a missing item page’, you can also submit a ‘missing or lost item form’ via Australia Post.

    If you have already done so and the item still hasn’t moved or arrived in a reasonable timeframe, email us - on occasion we can send the same request and it gets results.

  • Email us anyway and we can discuss what to do.

    Remember, we won’t know your item hasn’t arrived unless you tell us, so don’t hesitate to ask if anything seems wrong.

    We use common sense and care when assessing a situation and will always strive to treat our customers as we would like to be treated.

  • We do not offer international delivery (yet), please email us any requests and we will revisit this situation as needed. 

  • Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. Marika Knows Things is not responsible for delays due to customs.
